This semester, I have learnt a lot. I learnt that you need to pace yourself while running, doing fitness, lifting weights, or anything, because if you go slow or take your time you will get better results. This semester, I have helped a couple of times put and bring out the equipment, but I will admit that I usually stand around and chat with either Erika or others. This semester, I have also pushed myself to try and do better in Active Learning, for example, the Beep Test. In September, I first started out with a 6.3, but because of how much I pushed myself, I got a 9.5. In the beginning of grade nine,when I moved here, I wasn't really fit because I didn't enjoy running, doing fitness etc, because I didn't get what it really was, but now in grade ten, I like doing fitness, I love running, and I am most defiantly more fit now then in grade nine. There were times this semester when I wouldn't try, because either I was really tired from the Fitness the day before or because after Winter Break I had a lot of family things and a lot of stress from school. The way that I would exercise for 60 minutes a day , is by doing the community run around my block, because I live so close I could do it everyday. This semester, I was not a leader, but I did drive myself into doing the best I can during P.E and tried to push others also. There were times Erika and I, would not do our best this semester, but Erika would also push me to do my best in the weight room, the Beep Test and other activities we would do. Active Learning really taught me how you much you need to take care of your body and how important it is, by exercising, going for runs, and eating healthy foods. I think that I deserve 90% at the most, because I have put a lot of effort into Active Learning this semester, I have never missed any days without P.E strip, I have never missed any days without coming with positive energy and a smile on my face.
Courtenay, Continue to write reflective, honest and accurate posts. I agree with your entire assessment. You have outlined and areas you need to improve on as well as your strengths. What type of impact could you have on the class dynamic if you demonstrated leadership skills? What has been the biggest reason why your mindset has changed towards exercising? In the future consider ways to avoid standing around and chating with friends instead of helping with equipment, teams and set up.
